Inventors

Stuttgart is the capital of inventors. The reason: Necessity is the mother of invention – and the area has always been poor in natural resources. Here is not only the cradle of the fast running petrol engine by Gottlieb Daimler and Wilhelm Maybach, the steam plough by Max Eyth and the air ship by Ferdinand Graf von Zeppelin. In 1895 was also invented the lever arch file by Leitz. The electric hand held drill of the W.E. workshop. Effervescent lemonade powder is from Stuttgart-Cannstatt, invented by Theodor Beltle in 1925. The invention of the office photocopier by Dr. Walter Eisbein in 1948 in Stuttgart-Zuffenhausen led to the creation of the company Develop.
