Information about Stuttgart-Nord

Wappen Stuttgart

The district Stuttgart-Nord (North) can be split into three parts: the residential workers area in the valley, the Weißenhofsiedlung and the area around the exhibition grounds on the Killesberg. The Weißenhofsiedlung attracted international interest when it was developed in 1927 as the architects displayed a revolutionary outlook in their construction at the time. Under the guidance of artists from all over Europe, among them well-known names such as Mies van der Rohe and Le Corbusier, the modern residence took shape. And even today the Weißenhof is not lacking in attractiveness. Every year, world-class tennis players meet up here for the ATP tournament at the Weißenhof.

The exhibition grounds on the Killesberg are meeting point for enterprises form all over the world. Here, the latest developments from various industries are presented regularly. Directly next to it, the Höhenpark Killesberg offers relaxation on the former site of the international horticultural exhibition (IGA). Not only can you admire well-groomed flower beds and tree populations, you can also enjoy views over the whole Neckartal. The residential areas on the Killesberg are one of the most popular in all of Stuttgart, mainly because the North of Stuttgart is less industrially populated. Three quarters of firms based there are service providers.
